Analyst Perspective

fischerAppelt is a German owner-managed agency group providing communications, branding, PR, performance marketing, programmatic media buying, digital experience design, web development, e-commerce delivery and experiential marketing services. Its customers are businesses, public institutions, NGOs and marketing or communications teams that buy outsourced strategy, campaign execution, digital production and media services. The group makes money primarily through project fees and retained service relationships, with additional revenue linked to media planning and buying, digital implementation and production work. Analyst Signal Briefing

Updated: 28 Jul 2026

fischerAppelt continues to deliver high-profile mandates, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup venue for the DFB and a nationwide BMJV awareness campaign. The group is evolving its creative portfolio through its agencies TeamWFP and Charles & Charlotte, recently launching the immersive "Leylaland" flagship for Penny, while maintaining its "Monsters of Content Marketing" series. Internally, the group has initiated a leadership reorganisation at its subsidiary Philipp und Keuntje, establishing a new management board following the departure of Chief Creative Officer Marjorieth Sanmartin. These moves signal a focus on integrated content strategies and structural streamlining.

Category Differentiation

This is an integrated agency and consultancy group, not a standalone adtech software vendor or DSP. It should be distinguished from pure PR agencies because it also delivers digital build, performance media, e-commerce and experiential services.

Penny opens Leyla Heiter-themed store

Penny opened Leylaland, a Leyla Heiter–themed permanent flagship 'Glitter‑Discounter', on 30 July 2026 in Frankfurt‑Praunheim (a converted REWE City on Ludwig‑Landmann‑Straße). Jointly designed with POS agency TeamWFP and social‑first agency Charles & Charlotte in collaboration with influencer Leyla Heiter, the branch operates as a regular Penny discounter with about 3,500 items at standard prices (no 'glamour surcharge') while offering an immersive, social‑media‑ready market‑hall experience—chandeliers, palm trees, pink baskets, neon slogans and a life‑size gold statue. Heiter attended the launch and will participate in future in‑store and social activations. Launch attendees included Penny marketing chief Jan Flemming and advisor Nils Franzen. The opening was covered on site by Lebensmittelzeitung (30 July 2026) and HORIZONT (31 July 2026). Penny positions Leylaland as part of its ongoing themed/experiential retail initiatives.

Agencies Should Take More Risk, Says Franziska von Lewinski

In a beach-side interview on Fehmarn, Franziska von Lewinski, Managing Partner of The Observatory International's German arm, urged agencies to accept more performance-based risk and to deeply understand clients' business models. Von Lewinski also offered advice on how agencies should approach artificial intelligence and described how she would build an agency today. The interview was conducted by Mirko Kaminski, CEO of Achtung and video reporter for HORIZONT.
