mrge

mrge is a commerce advertising platform for affiliate and publisher monetisation.

Analyst Perspective

mrge is a German B2B commerce advertising and affiliate marketing platform that connects advertisers, e-commerce brands, affiliates and digital publishers. Its platform portfolio combines commerce content monetisation, affiliate tracking, performance marketing and product recommendation capabilities, enabling campaigns and publisher monetisation across CPC, CPA, CPL and related outcome-based models. The company makes money by aggregating advertiser demand and publisher supply, then earning commissions or margins on clicks, leads, actions and orders delivered through its network. It also appears to generate software-like revenue through platform access, APIs and integrations. The business has expanded beyond Europe through acquisitions including SourceKnowledge and MaxBounty, which added North American reach and deeper CPC and CPA capabilities.

Category Differentiation

mrge is not a consumer shopping app or a pure retailer. It is a B2B commerce advertising and affiliate monetisation platform that serves publishers, advertisers and e-commerce partners.

mrge: About

mrge operates a networked B2B advertising platform spanning affiliate marketing, native commerce content, publisher monetisation and performance media. It creates value by matching advertiser offers with publisher inventory and content environments, improving conversion outcomes through analytics, automation and integrations. The model benefits from scale on both sides of the marketplace: more advertisers increase monetisation opportunities for publishers, while more publishers improve reach and performance options for advertisers.

How mrge Works & Monetises

Business model analysis and core revenue streams

mrge monetises primarily through performance-based commercial models, including CPC, CPA, CPL, CPO and affiliate commissions. It likely retains a margin or revenue share between advertiser spend and publisher payout, and may charge platform or integration fees for SaaS-style access, APIs and managed integrations. Revenue is tied to measurable commercial outcomes such as clicks, leads, conversions and orders rather than pure impression volume.

Mrge Expands North American Reach with Maxbounty Acquisition

German commerce advertising group Mrge, backed by Waterland Private Equity, is expanding its North American footprint with the acquisition of Maxbounty, a Canadian affiliate marketing network. Dave Reed, who became CEO of the Mrge group last year, welcomed the addition of Maxbounty’s skilled team. Maxbounty CEO Matt McEvoy said the partnership should accelerate growth and strengthen the network in a consolidating market. Financial terms were not disclosed.
