Meta soft-launches Pocket, an AI TikTok for games

Meta has quietly soft-launched Pocket, a new app that lets users generate and share short-form interactive apps and games using AI prompts. Pocket was built on technology and a team Meta acquired via its earlier purchase of the startup Gizmo; the app creates short interactive 'gizmos' from text, photos, touch and sound and presents them in a TikTok-like feed. Reports indicate the app has been soft-launched in Brazil and shows a 4.9 rating from over 13,000 user reviews on Google Play. Background reporting notes Meta hired the Gizmo team in March 2026 and that the original Gizmo app previously recorded ~700,000 lifetime installs and raised about $5.48m according to a 2025 SEC filing.
