Backend Engineer (Python/Django) – Build the Future of AI-Driven Marketing

Works on the Django services that power Plane's core work management features—projects, cycles, issues, and permissions—while keeping live state in sync across thousands of workspaces including self-hosted clusters. Extends this infrastructure to support AI agents that read and modify state at machine speed.

This Backend Software Engineer on the Core team builds and maintains the foundational platform for Cognitiv's real-time bidding and campaign execution engine. The role involves owning features end-to-end, ensuring code quality and reliability, and contributing to system design. Requires strong backend programming skills, experience with relational databases, and familiarity with on-call responsibilities.

Design and build the centralized, high-throughput AI platform at Similarweb, including high-concurrency agent runtimes, distributed tool/data pipelines, low-latency model gateways, and real-time evaluation/observability systems. Requires 5+ years of backend engineering experience with advanced Python, strong system design (async microservices, gRPC/REST, distributed state), and hands-on experience with agentic frameworks like LangGraph/LangChain. Responsibilities include implementing zero-trust security patterns (RBAC/ABAC, PII detection), optimizing distributed execution for SLA compliance, and building developer-facing platform tooling for internal teams.
