Workato

Workato is a enterprise integration and automation software for cross-system workflows.

Analyst Perspective

Workato is a private US-based B2B software company that provides a cloud platform for enterprise integration, workflow automation, API management, data orchestration, embedded integrations, analytics, and conversational workflow execution. Its products are designed to connect SaaS applications, data systems, and business processes so technical and operational teams can automate cross-application work with low-code tools and governance controls. The company makes money primarily through enterprise SaaS subscriptions and usage-based pricing tied to automation volume, platform editions, and add-on capabilities. Its direct customers are enterprise IT teams, integration architects, platform engineers, automation leaders, data teams, and SaaS product teams that need to build, run, monitor, and govern automations at scale. Workato has also expanded into agentic and AI-enabled workflow products, but its commercial core remains enterprise orchestration and integration software rather than foundational AI infrastructure.

Analyst Signal Briefing

Updated: 4 Aug 2026

Workato has advanced its enterprise AI control platform by launching the Enterprise MCP Registry, providing a governed system of record for AI agents across sixty production-ready servers. To further standardise agentic performance, the company contributed 500 trajectories to the MLPerf Agentic Inference Benchmark alongside industry partners. These governance-led expansions, including new observability features for Genie conversation logs, underpinned Workato’s 99% recommendation rate in the 2026 Gartner Voice of the Customer report for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies.

Category Differentiation

Workato is not a consumer productivity app or a pure marketing automation tool. It is an enterprise integration and workflow orchestration software vendor, closer to iPaaS and automation platforms than to email marketing or adtech products.

Workato: About

Workato operates a B2B SaaS model centred on enterprise automation infrastructure. It provides a unified platform that lets organisations integrate applications, orchestrate workflows, expose APIs, embed integration features into their own software, monitor automations, and apply governance across distributed business systems. Value is created by reducing custom integration work, shortening automation deployment time, and giving enterprises a governed control layer across cloud and on-premise environments.

How Workato Works & Monetises

Business model analysis and core revenue streams

Workato monetises mainly through custom-quoted enterprise SaaS contracts with a consumption-based component tied to automation usage, tasks, or operations. Revenue is also driven by tiered editions, higher-value enterprise deployments, premium capabilities such as API management and governance, embedded integrations priced on end-user consumption, and overage or scale-related expansion as customers automate more workflows. This is fundamentally a subscription-plus-usage model rather than services-led or transaction-take-rate monetisation.

monday.com API now defaults to 200-user cap

monday.com changed its GraphQL API default to version 2026-07 (Current) on July 1, 2026. The Query.users endpoint now silently returns at most 200 users when no limit is specified, and the limit argument itself is capped at 1000 (larger values error). Several scalar types changed (created_at → ISO8601DateTime!, utc_hours_diff → Float, birthday → String) and numerous fields/arguments are deprecated and scheduled for removal in version 2026-10, which will break integrations that still read the old fields. Integrations that do not send an explicit API-Version header automatically receive the Current version and are therefore affected. Practical impacts include incomplete SSO/SCIM deprovisioning, incorrect seat/license counts, and missing HR sync records unless clients implement explicit pagination and the other migration steps.
