Search-Studie: Trump als Opfer der Suche?

Searchmetrics conducted a study of top 10 results across four search engines (google.com, yahoo.com, bing.com, duckduckgo.com) and five social networks (tumblr.com, pinterest.com, twitter.com, instagram.com, 9gag.com) using 250 keywords related to Donald Trump. To simulate a Trump search, the study modeled a US user at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, noting that personalization can alter results. Findings were mixed: Google tended to surface more anti-Trump results, while Bing and Yahoo leaned more positive. In social media, Pinterest, Tumblr, and 9gag were largely critical; Instagram’s top results were positive or neutral. On Twitter, top tweets were mostly critical, but Latest tweets contained more neutral/positive messages. The study also suggests liberal media sites increased Google visibility since January 2017, while conservative outlets had only modest gains, and Trump’s own domains appeared less often in Google Top 10 than in other engines.
