WhatsApp tests channel storage cleanup feature

Meta is testing a new WhatsApp feature that will let users free up smartphone storage by removing media sent via WhatsApp Channels. The tool allows selecting one or multiple channels, opening a three‑dot menu to delete media by type (videos & GIFs, images, stickers, voice messages) or all files at once. Starred messages are automatically excluded from deletion. The capability is currently available in the WhatsApp Android beta; Meta has not announced a public release date. The functionality was reported by WABetaInfo and covered by t3n.
