Netflix to Launch Ad Tier in 15 New Markets in March 2027
Netflix announced that starting March 1, 2027, its advertising-supported subscription tier will be extended to 15 additional countries, including Austria and Switzerland, thereby completing the DACH region. Other new markets include the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland, Colombia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, and Thailand. This expansion follows earlier confirmation by Netflix's DACH advertising chief Susanne Aigner that the company wanted to ensure a clean product launch in existing markets first. The announcement was made at DMEXCO and Netflix's UK Upfronts in London. Netflix's global advertising head Amy Reinhard emphasized the company's readiness and confidence in its technology and audience, while UK ad chief Ed Couchman highlighted the platform's significance in media plans. The DACH expansion will be managed from Germany.
