M&A Market: Luca Bocchio Joins Balderton as Partner After Accel Stint

Balderton, a European venture capital firm, has appointed Luca Bocchio as a Partner focusing on early-stage investments. Bocchio joins after more than a decade in European VC, most recently as a Partner at Accel where he covered fintech, consumer, AI applications, defence, and energy. He has backed notable companies such as Trade Republic, SumUp, Vinted, and Fuse Energy. Prior to investing, he advised technology and consumer companies at Bain & Co. Bocchio expressed enthusiasm for backing Europe's ambitious entrepreneurs, while Balderton's Managing Partner Bernard Liautaud and founders of his portfolio companies praised his track record and relationships. The appointment strengthens Balderton's early-stage investment team.
