Leveraging its $280 million funding from late 2025, MoEngage has pivoted towards an agentic customer engagement model through the multi-million-dollar acquisition of AI infrastructure firm Aampe. This integration, alongside the launch of Merlin AI Custom Agents, aims to deliver 1:1 personalisation by provisioning autonomous agents for individual users. Category Differentiation

MoEngage is a B2B customer engagement and marketing automation software vendor, not a consumer app or a media buying platform. It competes with lifecycle marketing and CDP vendors rather than advertising exchanges or pure CRM systems.

MoEngage: About

MoEngage operates a multi-product SaaS platform for customer engagement. It creates value by unifying customer data, analytics and campaign execution in a single system, reducing the need for separate point solutions across segmentation, lifecycle orchestration, reporting and personalisation. Customers embed the platform into their marketing and product operations, which drives recurring revenue, expansion into additional modules and sustained usage across messaging channels.

How MoEngage Works & Monetises

MoEngage monetises primarily through software subscriptions sold on enterprise and mid-market contracts. Pricing is structured around account scale and platform usage, including monthly active users, customer data volume and campaign or messaging consumption across email, push, SMS and similar channels. Additional monetisation comes from premium analytics, AI decisioning, broader platform bundles, support tiers and ecosystem-driven expansion through integrations and vertical commerce use cases.

MoEngage and Boldest Partner for Cognitive Telecom Marketing

MoEngage announced a strategic partnership with Boldest (part of Prodapt) to deliver Cognitive Marketing and AI-driven customer engagement to telecommunications operators. The collaboration pairs MoEngage’s agentic customer engagement platform — strengthened by its recent acquisition of Aampe — with Boldest as the execution partner using its proprietary Cognitive Marketing framework to identify subscriber intent signals and manage campaigns in real time. The partnership aims to address telecom-specific challenges such as fragmented customer data, high churn from delayed interventions, and slow time-to-market for personalized campaigns, offering an end-to-end closed-loop system to reduce churn, accelerate growth, and enable 1-to-1 personalization at scale. Quotes in the announcement come from Sanjay Kupae (Vice President, Partnerships, MoEngage) and Keith Pires (Chief Revenue Officer, Boldest). Publication: MarTech Series / PR Newswire, 2026-06-30.

MoEngage Acquires Aampe for 1:1 Agentic Decisioning

MoEngage announced on June 24, 2026 that it has acquired San Francisco–headquartered Aampe, an AI infrastructure company that provisions a dedicated, autonomous AI agent for each individual customer. The acquisition integrates Aampe’s reinforcement-learning, per-user agent technology natively into MoEngage, aligning with MoEngage’s Merlin AI investments to deliver 1:1 personalization at scale. Aampe’s privacy-centric architecture stores no personally identifiable information and relies on anonymized behavioural patterns. Aampe’s founding team (Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler and Sami Abboud) will join MoEngage to lead Agentic Decisioning initiatives. Aampe’s agents are already in production at brands including Taxfix, ZenBusiness, Grab and Swiggy; the platform reportedly runs hundreds of millions of agents and processes more than 200 billion decisions weekly.

MoEngage Acquires Aampe to Scale AI Agents

India-based customer engagement platform MoEngage has acquired San Francisco startup Aampe in an all-cash deal aimed at embedding per-customer AI agents into marketing workflows. Financial terms were not disclosed; a source told TechCrunch the deal was worth "tens of millions" of dollars. Aampe, founded in 2020, builds software that assigns a dedicated AI agent to each customer to personalize messaging based on individual behaviour; the startup has more than 30 customers across the U.S., Europe and APAC and saw annual recurring revenue grow 150% year-over-year, MoEngage CEO Raviteja Dodda said. About 20 Aampe employees will join MoEngage, bringing the combined company's headcount to roughly 820. MoEngage — which raised $280 million in late 2025 — expects the acquisition to help win enterprise customers migrating from Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Cloud.
