Joystick Ventures

Joystick Ventures is a indie game investor and publisher for PC and console.

Analyst Perspective

Joystick Ventures is a private US games investment and publishing company founded in 2020. It backs indie game developers and studios with capital, production support, marketing guidance, and publishing services, then commercialises resulting titles through digital distribution across PC and console ecosystems. Its operating model spans both venture investment and game publishing, with a portfolio approach intended to diversify title-level risk. The company generates value by sourcing promising indie studios, helping them bring games to market, and participating in the commercial upside of published titles. Its customer base spans two sides: game developers seeking funding and publishing support, and players who buy or subscribe to the games distributed through third-party storefronts and platforms.

Männer brauchen klare Ansagen in der Online Werbung

A gender-focused online advertising study conducted by InteractiveMedia in collaboration with market researcher phaydon analyzes qualitative interviews and group discussions to understand gender differences in online ad perception and impact. Key findings show women are generally more receptive to online advertising and prefer aesthetically designed, holistic campaigns with emotional appeal, while men value ads that clearly convey information and clearly separate content from advertising, also prioritizing personal autonomy over content overlays. Video ads resonate similarly for both genders, but men favor campaigns with explicit promotional clarity. The study offers campaign recommendations: for male targets, use clear messaging and transparent controls in display formats; for female targets, prioritize visually engaging, coherent designs and formats such as expandable display ads, along with specials to leverage holistic appeal. InteractiveMedia notes broad reach to female internet users via brands like Bunte.de, Cosmopolitan.de, Joy.de, Shape.de, and Celebrity.de, reporting over 10 million female unique users and a 51.4% net reach among women. The study is downloadable from InteractiveMedia’s site.
