Former 'Karussell' Host Urs Emmenegger Dies

Urs Emmenegger, a Swiss TV presenter best known as the host of the pre-evening program "Karussell," has died at age 80. Reported on 21 May 2026, Emmenegger lived in Bülach and studied history at the University of Zurich. In the mid-1980s he worked in Sydney for Channel O, later founding a film and media production company. From 1992 he helped build regional Swiss TV stations including RTV, Forum Züri and Züri 1, and since the late 1990s produced commissioned films and communication projects with RTV Medien GmbH. He was the son of Marta Emmenegger, a noted sex adviser for the Swiss publication Blick.
