Savers launches AI pricing tool for thrift items
Savers Value Village has launched ThriftIQ, an AI-driven pricing platform designed to bring consistent, low prices to its thrift apparel assortment. The tool was piloted in 58 stores and has been used to price more than 25 million items; Savers expects that number to double by year-end. ThriftIQ was developed with data science and technology consulting firm Kaizen Analytix using Savers' proprietary data and will be rolled out across additional U.S. and Canadian locations through early 2028. Company executives said the tool is not dynamic pricing — tags do not change after printing — and is intended to improve productivity and profitability while keeping prices roughly 40%–70% below traditional retail. Savers also reported Q2 results with $448.2 million in net sales and $21.6 million in net income.
