Google Photos launches AI Video Remix tool

Google Photos introduced a new AI-powered feature called Video Remix that can edit and transform videos in seconds, Google announced on July 8, 2026. Powered by Google’s Gemini Omni model, Video Remix is available under the Create tab and offers capabilities such as cinematic relighting, background replacement and artistic style filters (watercolor, sketchbook, oil painting). The feature began rolling out to eligible Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in a list of countries including the U.S., India, Japan, Brazil and others. Google framed the addition as part of a broader push to fold generative-AI tools into consumer apps; the company has recently added photo touch-up tools and a wardrobe/virtual-try-on feature to Google Photos.
