Roblox Lets Creators Ship Games as Standalone Apps
At its annual Roblox Developers Conference, Roblox announced new features to expand player access and creator monetization under 'Roblox Everywhere,' letting creators package games as standalone apps for mobile, PC, and consoles, with direct Chrome play expected by end of 2026. Offline play modes are in development, with early access arriving soon and full availability by mid-2027. The platform is also adding support for 2D and puzzle games and a notification system for turn-based multiplayer. Financially, Roblox Wallet, with a third-party partner, will provide daily real-currency payouts to eligible US creators. The AI-driven Build tool expands to Serbia and Singapore, alongside a new Scene Generator. Creators have earned over $5 billion through DevEx since 2013, including $1.7 billion in the past year.
