Zeta Expands Athena Agentic AI to Agencies
Zeta Global announced it is bringing Athena by Zeta — a superintelligent, agentic AI built on the company’s proprietary SuperGraph identity graph — to agency customers. Athena continuously analyzes signals across Zeta’s SuperGraph (covering 245 million U.S. individuals), surfaces opportunities, recommends next-best actions and optimizes campaign outcomes. Zeta positions Athena for agencies with integrated capabilities including Agentic Workflows (autonomous agents that monitor and act), Precision Measurement (identity-powered, real-time attribution) and Answers (conversational intelligence). Athena for Insights and Measurement is available to agency partners in beta, with full availability planned to roll out through the remainder of 2026. Zeta CEO David A. Steinberg and Matt Adams, Global CEO of Stagwell Media Platform, are quoted endorsing the product’s potential to speed decisioning and improve outcomes.
Zeta Global Launches Athena, Advances AI-First MarTech
Zeta Global CEO David A. Steinberg describes how the company rearchitected around AI beginning in 2017 to become an AI-native martech provider. Zeta claims its platform serves 51% of the Fortune 100 and hosts a 552 million opted-in consumer data cloud with thousands of data elements per person and a first-party tracking pixel across trillions of pages. The company launched Athena, a voice-enabled, conversational AI copilot built in partnership with OpenAI and integrated with ChatGPT, and has also built a generative-engine-optimization capability to help brands appear in AI-generated answers. Zeta reports engineering productivity gains after an internal AI transformation, strong client revenue ROI, and projects a fourth consecutive year of over 30% growth heading into 2026. The interview appeared on The Speed of Culture podcast with Matt Britton.
Fireworks valued at $17.5B after $1.5B raise
Fireworks, a cloud startup that hosts open-source AI models for developers, raised $1.5 billion in a funding round that values the company at $17.5 billion. Backed by Nvidia, the San Mateo-based startup said it has exceeded $1 billion in annualized revenue — five times its revenue a year earlier — and now handles roughly 40 trillion AI tokens per day. Fireworks operates in the inference cloud market, competes with major cloud providers to host models, and has formed partnerships (including with Microsoft) while diversifying its customer base beyond early heavy users like Cursor. The round was led by Atreides Management, Index Ventures and TCV, with participation from Nvidia, Evantic and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Fireworks plans to expand headcount and buy more GPUs to support growing demand for cheaper, specialized AI model deployments.
