Snapchat+ Surpasses 25M Subscribers, Hits $1B Revenue Mark!
Snap announced its direct-revenue business has reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate, driven largely by Snapchat+, which has surpassed 25 million subscribers. Launched in 2022 at $3.99/month, Snapchat+ has expanded into multiple paid tiers over the past year — including Lens+ ($8.99/month), an ad-free Platinum tier ($15.99/month), and a paid storage plan ($1.99/month). Snapchat+ subscribers receive up to 250GB of storage while Platinum users get 5TB. Snap also began an alpha test of creator subscriptions in the U.S., allowing creators (including Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey and Skai Jackson) to set monthly prices for subscriber-only content, priority replies and ad-free experiences for their Stories. Snap says it will continue to grow Snapchat+ focusing on customization and community features, and the move has prompted similar subscription tests from competitors such as Meta.
Snap Q3 Revenue Up 14%, Returns to Profit
Snap Inc. reported Q3 2026 revenue of $1.72 billion, up 14% year-over-year, and a net income of $56.5 million, a significant turnaround from a $103.5 million loss in the prior year. Adjusted EBITDA grew 110% to $382.6 million, with margin expanding to 22%. Daily active users (DAU) reached 495 million, up 4%, while monthly active users hit 977 million. Revenue rose 13% in North America, 22% in Europe, and 11% in other markets. Operating cash flow increased 44% to $210.5 million, and free cash flow jumped 76% to $164.5 million. Snap highlighted increased use of AI in its advertising platform and continued investment in augmented reality and its SPECS product platform. Starting Q1 2027, Snap will shift its primary user metric to monthly active users and will no longer report regional DAU or daily monetization metrics.
Snapchat surpasses 30 million paid subscribers milestone.
Snap Inc. reported Q3 2026 earnings, announcing that Snapchat+ surpassed 30 million paid subscribers, up from 25 million in February 2026. This growth was driven by the core Snapchat+ tier, as well as new premium tiers like Lens+ and Snapchat+ Platinum. CEO Evan Spiegel highlighted the success of AI-powered features in Lens+, which exceeded expectations. However, the broader earnings release disappointed investors, with shares dropping 12% after missing ad revenue and user growth estimates. The company reported 495 million daily active users (DAUs), which fell short of analyst expectations. Snap also mentioned the controversial decision from the previous year to limit free Memories storage, pushing users to paid plans. The company plans to prioritize improving advertiser performance and expanding business reach.
