Withdrawal Button Mandatory on EU Online Shops
An EU-derived rule requires online merchants to provide a clearly visible "withdrawal" (widerrufs) button on their websites, effective 19 June 2026. The measure is intended to make it easier for consumers to cancel distance contracts — replacing the need to search contact details or fill forms with a single-click option. The requirement stems from an EU directive; according to the article, not all EU member states have yet transposed the directive into domestic law. The report was published by Lebensmittelzeitung on 17 June 2026 and notes the new button becomes obligatory for merchants from 19 June.
