Meta funds 30 projects for smart glasses use
Meta announced the AI Glasses Impact Grants, investing nearly $2 million to fund 30 US projects that build practical applications for its Ray‑Ban Meta AI Glasses. Nvidia to open Singapore embodied AI research hub
Nvidia will open its first research hub in Singapore, its second research presence in the Asia Pacific, focused on advancing embodied AI and improving AI infrastructure efficiency. The lab will collaborate with university researchers, industry partners and government agencies. Singapore also announced a national AI robotics testbed and a new Center for Intelligent Robotics to help private companies co-design, deploy, test and validate commercially viable AI robotics services. Early users of the testbed are expected to include Certis, DHL, Grab and QuikBot, while trials will involve robotics firms such as Slamtec, Unitree and QuikBot. OpenAI Launches 'OpenAI for Singapore' Partnership
Singapore announced separate AI agreements with OpenAI and Google at the ATxSummit, boosting its ambition to be a global AI hub. OpenAI committed more than 300 million Singapore dollars (≈$234 million) to establish the OpenAI Singapore Applied AI Lab — its first lab outside the U.S. — which is expected to hire 200+ staff and support national priorities including education, public services, finance, healthcare, and startup acceleration. Google expanded a National AI Partnership focused on education, healthcare, scientific research, training government researchers on agentic AI tools, enterprise innovation and secure AI deployment. The deals build on Singapore’s broader national AI strategy (over S$1 billion in public AI research funding from 2025–2030) and follow prior initiatives such as an AI Agents Sandbox launched in August 2025.
