DOOH Head Rolf Bakker Joins awk Executive Board
awk Aussenwerbung has promoted Rolf Bakker to Managing Director, DOOH & Operations and created its first C-level position with DOOH and technical infrastructure responsibility. Bakker, who joined the Koblenz-based company in September 2025 as Head of DOOH, will now oversee the expansion of the digital out-of-home business and all technical areas including construction, electrical, R&D and technical procurement. According to the company, Bakker has already driven a modernization of the DOOH infrastructure, developing new hardware, software and content-management solutions and preparing the network to grow to several thousand digital screens. awk says it now markets more than 50,000 advertising assets and is the number two player in the German outdoor advertising market behind Ströer.
RTL names leadership for combined sports unit
RTL Deutschland has announced the personnel structure for its future combined sports operations across Cologne and Unterföhring. Frank Robens will assume responsibility as Executive Vice President Sport from June 2026 and report to CCO Inga Leschek, who will take overall responsibility for entertainment and sports content. RTL is bringing in senior sport executives from Sky — Alexander Rösner (Senior Vice President, Editorial), Alessandro Reitano (Senior Vice President, Sports Production) and Hans Gabbe (Senior Vice President, Sports Rights & Commercialization) — to support Robens. Charly Classen is leaving Sky Deutschland amid the planned consolidation. The future roles of Ivo Hrstic (head of sports editorial at RTL News) and Jens Schmit (head of sports production) are described as to be assigned later.
Sabine Jünger joins Front Row as Europe Head
Sabine Jünger, currently Vice President at Otto Advertising, will become Managing Director Europe of e‑commerce agency group Front Row, effective 1 January 2027. Jünger has served at Otto since 2021 and previously was Head of Agency at Amazon (2015–2020). At Front Row she will join a four‑person European management team alongside Daniel Andrlik (e‑commerce), Chief Product Officer Benjamin Weyrich and Niall Donohoe (B2B marketing). The company—formed in 2022 from the merger of Hamburg’s Finc3 and US marketplace accelerator Fortress Brand—employs more than 600 people worldwide and counts clients such as Unilever, Bosch, Tesa, Sennheiser and Wella.
