Senior Data Platform Engineer, Snowflake

This Senior Full-stack Data Scientist partners with Product Management and Engineering to shape feature roadmaps and design metrics for Snowflake's most critical initiatives. The role builds efficient data models, production pipelines, and scalable analytics/ML/causal inference frameworks to uncover feature usage patterns and drive product enhancements, while acting as an early adopter of Snowflake features and disseminating insights via Notebooks, Worksheets, Snowsight Dashboards, and Streamlit Apps.

Designs, develops, and supports a petabyte-scale, highly parallel and fault-tolerant cloud database. The role involves analyzing performance bottlenecks, implementing novel query optimization or distributed data processing algorithms, and designing new service architectures for the Snowflake Data Cloud.

This role is a pre-sales data engineering specialist within the Applied Field Engineering team, providing technical leadership for enterprise data architecture design. The specialist will work directly with sales teams to demonstrate Snowflake's capabilities, support proof of concepts, and close business with strategic customers. The position requires 10+ years of architecture and data engineering experience, with 5+ years in a pre-sales environment.

Builds backend services, platform infrastructure, and AI capabilities for Snowflake's internal GTM AI platform. Develops APIs, orchestration services, agent frameworks, evaluation pipelines, and SDKs while optimizing for performance and reliability.
