OpenAI launches GPT‑Live voice models

OpenAI introduced GPT‑Live, a new full‑duplex family of voice models powering ChatGPT Voice that can listen and speak simultaneously and delegate complex tasks to other models in the background. GPT‑Live (including GPT‑Live‑1 and GPT‑Live‑1 mini) adds live translation, visual answer cards and improved noise suppression; the mini version will be available to free ChatGPT users. OpenAI says GPT‑Live can hand off deeper analyses to larger models such as GPT‑5.5 (and an upcoming GPT‑5.6) and then return results into the ongoing conversation. Cognition raises $1B at $25B pre-money valuation

Cognition, developer of the autonomous AI coding agent Devin, raised more than $1 billion at a $25 billion pre-money valuation, the company announced May 27, 2026. The financing was led by Lux Capital and General Catalyst, with participation from existing backers (Founders Fund, 8VC) and new investors including Ribbit Capital, Atreides and Layer Global. The round follows a $400 million raise in September 2025 that valued the company at $10.2 billion post-money. Cognition says it acquired remaining assets of Windsurf last year, counts enterprise customers such as Mercedes‑Benz, NASA, Goldman Sachs and Santander, and has reached a $492 million annualized revenue run‑rate as usage of Devin grew roughly 50% month-over-month over the past six months.

Armada Raises $230M, Johnson Controls to Build Factory

Armada, a San Francisco-based builder of modular AI data centers, raised $230 million in a Series B round valuing the company at $2 billion. The financing coincides with a manufacturing and investment deal with Johnson Controls to produce Armada’s megawatt-scale modular unit, the Leviathan, at a new 400,000-square-foot Arizona factory named Galleon Forge One, which is expected to create more than 500 jobs. Armada says its modular units can be deployed within days and run on local energy sources; customers include the U.S. Navy and industrial operators such as offshore oil rigs. The company reported customer bookings grew 540% from fiscal 2025 to 2026 and that Q1 FY27 bookings rose roughly 2,000% year-over-year. The round was oversubscribed and co-led by Overmatch, 8090 Industries and BlackRock, with several strategic and existing investors joining.
