Fox Official LA Media Partner for World Cup, Super Bowl

Fox's Los Angeles stations have been named the official media partner of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC) to support the city's upcoming major sporting events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl LXI. The agreement will use Fox's local broadcast channels and streaming platform to deliver behind-the-scenes coverage, promote local organizers, and drive community engagement. LASEC President Kathryn Schloessman praised the effort to recognize local organizations; a Fox executive said the company will highlight communities. The deal reinforces broadcast television's strategy of leveraging live, local sports as premium inventory in a fragmented media landscape.

Fox unveils AI-driven OneFox converged media platform

Fox Advertising unveiled OneFox, an AI-driven converged media platform (built with technology from AdRise) designed to unify planning, activation and outcome-based measurement across Fox’s linear, addressable and digital inventory. The platform leverages AI for audience identification and matching, contextual and behavioral signals, predictive planning models, creative analytics and real-time measurement tied to business outcomes. Fox positioned the launch to influence upfront commitments; a beta is due in the coming months with a full rollout slated for October. Fox says the effort builds on more than a year of engineering work by AdRise and aims to evolve retail media networks toward “secure data co-ops” while emphasizing privacy and compliant data practices.

SAFE Act Would Reshape College Sports Media Rights

Senate Democrats introduced the Student Athlete Fairness and Enforcement (SAFE) Act on Oct 6, 2025. The bill would allow college athletic conferences to pool media rights for joint negotiation — a capability historically reserved for pro leagues — and would require college football and basketball games to be available on free local broadcast stations. SAFE also proposes a national athlete-protections framework including a 10-year scholarship guarantee, five years of post-eligibility medical coverage, an agent registry and caps on agent fees. The measure sets up a political clash with the Republican-backed SCORE Act and follows an aggressive lobbying and ad campaign by Texas Tech regent Cody Campbell, whose recent ads were reportedly refused by some networks. Rising college football viewership and multiple concurrent legislative proposals raise the financial stakes for broadcasters, conferences and advertisers.
