What BigCommerce does

Commerce.com operates a multi-product SaaS model. Merchants and commerce teams subscribe to BigCommerce for commerce infrastructure, Feedonomics for catalogue enrichment and multi-channel data syndication, and Makeswift for visual publishing and storefront management. The platform creates additional value through integrations with commerce, advertising, CRM, ERP, payment and AI-discovery ecosystems. Embedded payments generates transaction-based revenue, while partner, implementation and managed-feed services supplement recurring software revenue.

Category differentiation

Commerce.com, Inc. is a public commerce-software corporation, not a consumer marketplace operating under the commerce.com domain. BigCommerce is its flagship platform brand, rather than the current legal name of the listed parent company.
