Appfigures

Appfigures is a mobile app analytics and app store intelligence software.

Analyst Perspective

Appfigures is a private B2B software company that provides analytics, app store optimisation, market intelligence and review monitoring tools for mobile app businesses. Its platform consolidates app store performance data, advertising spend, keyword rankings, reviews, competitor benchmarks and SDK adoption signals into subscription software used by developers, growth teams, product managers and market analysts. The company makes money primarily through recurring SaaS subscriptions with tiered feature access. Its value proposition is to give app publishers and adjacent vendors a central intelligence layer for operating and growing mobile apps across app stores and ad channels, rather than acting as an ad network, media buyer or consumer app publisher.

Analyst Signal Briefing

Updated: 2 Jul 2026

Appfigures has reinforced its position as a primary source for mobile intelligence, providing data on AI adoption, regional VPN surges, and competitive shifts for major platforms like Meta and Truecaller. Recent reports indicate a 60% year-over-year increase in app launches driven by AI tools, though the firm notes that visual AI models generate significantly higher download spikes than traditional chatbots. To support its continued market analysis and role in identifying complex ecosystem trends, the organisation is currently recruiting for several new positions.

Category Differentiation

Appfigures is not a consumer app publisher or a mobile ad network. It is a B2B software platform for app analytics, ASO and app market intelligence.

Appfigures: About

Appfigures operates a vertical SaaS model for the mobile app ecosystem. It aggregates data from app stores, ad networks and its own intelligence layers, then packages that information into subscription software for analytics, ASO, competitive research, market benchmarking and review operations. Value is created by reducing manual reporting work, improving app discoverability and enabling better strategic decisions for teams managing or analysing app portfolios.

How Appfigures Works & Monetises

Business model analysis and core revenue streams

The company monetises through tiered SaaS subscriptions. Plans are feature-gated and usage-based, with a free entry tier and paid upgrades for more tracked apps, deeper analytics, more keyword monitoring, competitive intelligence, market data and API access. Annual billing discounts support retention, while add-on depth appears to increase average revenue per account as customers expand from core analytics into ASO, intelligence and ad spend reporting.

Meta launches vibe-coded gaming app Pocket

Meta has quietly launched Pocket, a new mobile app that lets users generate and share small interactive apps and games (called “gizmos”) via AI text prompts. The app appears to be the product of Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind the vibe-coded gaming platform Gizmo and includes a scrollable discovery feed similar to Gizmo’s original app. App intelligence firm Appfigures reports Pocket first appeared on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026, though downloads were not yet visible. Other publishers including Business Insider and Investing.com reported the rollout after reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi posted Play Store screenshots. Meta has not publicly announced Pocket, suggesting the release is an early experimental or soft-launch test.

TV Time App Shuts Down as Owner Focuses on AI

TV Time, a popular TV-tracking and fan community app owned by Whip Media, will be discontinued and removed from app stores after July 15, 2026. Whip Media cited the cost of running the free app and insufficient demand for a paid product, while the company is shifting priorities under new ownership toward AI-focused products and services — including its Helix automation and workflow management tool. TV Time had generated sizable audience data (reported as north of 26 million lifetime installs), which Whip Media previously used to power media-industry analytics. Whip Media says personal data collected via TV Time will be deleted and will not be used commercially after shutdown; users can request a GDPR-compliant data export before the service ends.

India's Telegram Ban Triggers VPN and Rival App Surge

India temporarily restricted access to Telegram for a week amid concerns about exam-related fraud tied to a NEET retest, prompting a large, immediate spike in VPN downloads and rival messaging app installs. App intelligence firm Appfigures reported a 49% day-over-day increase in VPN downloads in India (from 139,000 to 208,000). Major VPN providers — including Proton VPN, Turbo VPN, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Windscribe and Surfshark — and messaging apps such as Signal, Viber and iMe recorded sharp uplifts in downloads and registrations. Sensor Tower reported a 17% rise in Telegram daily active users in India on the announcement day. Telegram challenged the order in the Delhi High Court; the court upheld the temporary restriction. Multiple network measurement firms also reported increased DNS requests and connection attempts to Telegram domains.
