Proton upgrades privacy-focused chatbot Lumo to 2.0
Proton released Lumo 2.0 on June 30, 2026, upgrading its public, privacy-focused AI chatbot with multimodal and performance features. The update adds image recognition and image-generation capabilities, lets users upload photos for analysis or editing, and introduces a reworked Projects widget with user-controlled persistent memory so the assistant can recall preferences across sessions. Proton says Lumo 2.0 responds up to 76% faster than the prior version and includes a new “thinking mode” for harder problems. The company emphasizes privacy protections — a claimed zero-access encryption architecture, no server-side session logging, and a promise not to use customer data for model training or to share it with third parties. Lumo 2.0 is available immediately in free and paid (Plus and Professional) tiers.
Revolutionizing Creativity: Luma AI Unveils All-in-One Agents
Luma AI, a Palo Alto–based company founded in 2021, is introducing a new category of end-to-end “creative agents” designed to coordinate and execute professional creative work across text, image, video and audio. After three years building native 3D, image and video models, Luma is combining its proprietary models with third‑party tools to create unified, multimodal workflows aimed at brands and agencies. The system was beta tested with more than 100 clients since December; launch partners include Serviceplan Group and Publicis Groupe Middle East & Turkey. Luma’s agents let teams toggle specific models on or off and seek to replace fragmented, sequential tool-chaining with a single orchestration layer. The company has raised a total of $1.1 billion and is valued at $4 billion. Luma frames the move as building toward multimodal general intelligence and tighter integration into enterprise creative workflows.
Luma Unveils AI Agents for Next-Gen Creative Solutions
Luma launched Luma Agents, an agentic creative platform powered by its new Unified Intelligence family of models. The first model in that family, Uni-1, is a multimodal system trained on audio, video, image, language and spatial reasoning; Luma says it enables agents to plan and generate text, images, video and audio and to coordinate with other AI models (including Luma’s Ray 3.14, Google’s Veo 3 and Nano Banana Pro, ByteDance’s Seedream, and ElevenLabs’ voice models). Luma positions the product for ad agencies, marketing teams, design studios and enterprises, and reports early rollouts with customers such as Publicis Groupe, Serviceplan, Adidas, Mazda and Humain. Luma Agents are available via API with access to be ramped up gradually.
