Bezos: AI will cause worker shortages, not job losses
Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and co-CEO of AI startup Prometheus, said at Vivatech in Paris that the AI revolution is unlikely to make humans obsolete. Instead, he predicts AI will remove barriers that currently prevent people from executing ideas, potentially creating a shortage of workers able to carry innovations through to production. Prometheus aims to provide tools that accelerate invention speed and is pursuing an "Artificial General Engineer" (AGE) approach rather than a traditional AGI. Bezos also referenced his past investments (Blue Origin, Altos Labs) and argued that moving heavy industry to space could benefit Earth’s environment.
