AI Boom Drives Infineon Revenue to Record High
Infineon reported a record third fiscal-quarter revenue driven by strong demand for power chips used in AI data centers. The company said third-quarter sales reached €4.2 million (reported), up 13% year-on-year, while net profit rose 39% to €423 million. Operative segment result increased 22% to €797 million and the corresponding margin improved to 19.1%. CEO Jochen Hanebeck said power-supply solutions for AI data centers remain the most important growth driver. For fiscal 2025/26 Infineon now expects revenue to rise about 11% year-on-year to roughly €16.3 billion. The company also disclosed multi-year reservation agreements or negotiations with cumulative revenue in the high single-digit billion-euro range, some including advance payments. AI chip rally adds $2T to Micron, Intel, AMD
Chip stocks outside Nvidia surged in Q2 2026 as investors broadened AI exposure to memory and CPU suppliers. Micron rose more than 240%, Intel jumped 216% and AMD climbed 186%, together adding about $2 trillion to their combined market capitalization. Micron reported a more-than-fourfold revenue increase for the latest quarter and a jump in gross margin to 84.9%. Other AI infrastructure suppliers also posted large gains — Marvell, Arm and the VanEck Semiconductor ETF saw double- and triple-digit returns — while hyperscalers such as Alphabet, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft had mixed results. Barclays analyst Anshul Gupta attributed the moves to a rotation from AI hyperscalers into broader semiconductor ‘AI enablers.’
