GumGum opens Paris office to expand France business

Adtech company GumGum is expanding its European presence by opening an office in Paris to grow activities on the French market. Founded in California in 2008, the company originally focused on contextual advertising and in 2024 added its AI-supported “Mindset Graph”, which analyses real-time signals around attention, usage context and interests to optimise ad timing. GumGum says the solution runs across mobile, desktop and connected TV and processes a mix of first‑party client data, anonymised campaign insights from over 10,000 brands, publisher data and seasonal/cultural trends. In France the company already runs campaigns for brands such as Boucheron, IBM, Adidas, Dell and Nike and works with major agency networks and publishers including Le Monde and Le Figaro.

French Inquiry Pressures France Télévisions Funding

A French parliamentary inquiry panel released a final report recommending significant cuts to the number of public broadcasters and changes to their funding and operations. The report, authored by far-right MP Charles Alloncle, called for a full or partial redesign of major public media institutions starting with France Télévisions and Radio France. The proposal has been rejected by France Télévisions CEO Delphine Ernotte and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. The right‑wing Rassemblement National (RN) and the small UDR party are pushing for privatization of public broadcasters. Committee chair Jérémie Patrier‑Leitus (Horizons) publicly disputed Alloncle’s recommendations and appended separate recommendations; the parliament narrowly approved publication of the report with support from right, far‑right and parts of the centre.
