BigID Extends DSPM to Markdown Files
BigID announced support for scanning and classifying Markdown (.md) files so its DSPM can discover, classify, risk-score and remediate sensitive data embedded in AI instruction files used by modern developer workflows. The capability targets plaintext AI instruction artifacts (e.g., Claude skills, Cursor rules, GitHub Copilot instructions, MCP server configs and custom agent prompts) that commonly contain API keys, credentials, PII, database schemas and proprietary logic. BigID says the feature provides discovery across cloud storage, code repositories, collaboration platforms and developer workstations, classification of sensitive content, exposure risk scoring by file and owner, and remediation actions such as access restriction, quarantine and alerts.
