RND launches politics podcast 'If You Knew...'
Madsack’s Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND) has launched a new weekly politics podcast titled "Wenn Sie wüssten..." ("If You Knew...") hosted by RND editor-in-chief Eva Quadbeck, deputy Berlin bureau chief Kristina Dunz and documentarian Stephan Lamby. The series — developed with RND Fortis, Madsack’s unit for newsletters and digital products — promises critical, persistent and fair reporting on how politics operates behind the scenes. The first episode addresses an alleged private confrontation between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Axel Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner about handling the AfD. Welt launches 'Inside Kanzleramt' afternoon program
Welt is launching a new weekly programme called "Inside Kanzleramt" beginning this week, with the first broadcast scheduled for Thursday and a recurring slot at 16:15. The show will also be published as a podcast and will feature five rotating contributors who have held roles in German federal politics: Peter Altmaier, Béla Anda, Steffen Hebestreit, Kristina Schröder and Peter Tauber. According to the broadcaster, the format aims to offer behind-the-scenes explanations of German federal political processes, assess strengths and weaknesses of governance, and provide first‑hand analysis. The same quintet will also contribute a column on Welt.de. The launch expands Welt’s afternoon talk lineup, which already includes the debate show "Meinungsfreiheit" hosted by Nena Brockhaus on Mondays to Wednesdays.
