MFE posts small operating profit in Q1
MediaForEurope (MFE) reported a surprise small operating profit for Q1, delivering an EBIT of €13.6 million versus a pro forma loss of €50.1 million a year earlier. Group revenues fell 4.5% to €1.53 billion, driven by weaker advertising sales, but cost reductions helped improve results. MFE recorded a net loss of €26.1 million, narrower than the prior‑year quarter’s €41.3 million loss. Consolidated ad revenues declined 4.2% to €952.9 million, with ProSiebenSat.1 (Germany) seeing a 9.8% drop, Spain down 3.4%, while Italy’s ad sales were essentially flat, edging up 0.1% to €454.5 million.
