DTCP closes €455M defence fund to scale European strategic tech
DTCP has closed its inaugural defence fund, DTCP Defence Fund I, with €455 million in commitments from European institutional and strategic investors, including Deutsche Telekom, Porsche SE, EIFO, Danica, and SmartCap. The fund is Europe-led and NATO-aligned, targeting early-growth and growth-stage technology companies in AI, autonomous systems, cyber defence, secure communications, and space technologies. It will focus on Series B and later equity rounds, primarily in Europe, while selectively backing companies from NATO member states. Initial investments include Six Robotics and Kraken Technology Group, with a third underway. DTCP is expanding its defence platform with new hires and plans to open a Copenhagen office in 2027 to strengthen ties with Danish and German defence tech ecosystems. The fund addresses the need for more European capital to scale strategic capabilities.
NATO DIANA Names First 24 Investors, 20 from Europe
The NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) has announced the first 24 investors joining the NATO DIANA Capital Network (NDCN), aimed at scaling innovative dual-use and DeepTech solutions for Allied security. Among these, 20 are European-based, including notable funds like Bpifrance, DTCP, and Project A. The launch is part of a broader surge in European defence-tech funding in 2026, exemplified by Quantum Systems' €1 billion Series D, ICEYE's €450 million Series F, and Kraken Technology Group's €152.9 million Series B. Several NDCN members are already active in these financings, such as DTCP leading investments in Kraken and Six Robotics, and the NATO Innovation Fund participating in multiple rounds. The network, launched in April 2026, offers members access to DIANA's screened pipeline, events with NATO leadership, and a zero-fee model.
