Apollo and Blackstone Provide Anthropic $35B Loan
Apollo and Blackstone have committed a $35 billion private financing package to AI developer Anthropic, one of the largest private credit deals reported. The capital will be used primarily to acquire AI chips developed by Alphabet; a newly created company will buy the hardware and lease it to Anthropic in return for regular payments. The financing is structured in risk tranches: a senior portion backed by Broadcom (as a form of credit support) and a lower tranche with higher returns for investors if Anthropic’s payments hold. The Financial Times reported the deal; manager magazin published details on June 9, 2026. The transaction is presented as a potential blueprint for future AI‑infrastructure financings amid rising capital needs in the AI sector.
Blackstone Invests $1.2B in India's Neysa AI Infrastructure
Neysa, an Indian AI infrastructure startup founded in 2023, secured backing from U.S. private equity firm Blackstone and co-investors to raise up to $600 million in primary equity—giving Blackstone a majority stake—and plans an additional $600 million in debt financing for a potential $1.2 billion package. Co-investors include Teachers’ Venture Growth, TVS Capital, 360 ONE Asset, and Nexus Venture Partners. Neysa currently operates roughly 1,200 GPUs and plans to scale to more than 20,000 GPUs as demand for local AI compute rises in India from government, regulated enterprises, and AI developers. Blackstone framed the investment as part of its broader global push into data center and AI infrastructure; Blackstone executives estimate India’s GPU deployment could grow from fewer than 60,000 to over 2 million in coming years. Neysa employs about 110 people across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai and intends to use capital for large-scale GPU clusters, networking, storage, and software tooling.
