Digital Asset Management Market: Migrating Knowledge Base from Nextcloud to Cloudreve

A small company migrated a shared knowledge base from Nextcloud to Cloudreve v4 with fileview to reduce resource usage and simplify previews/streaming. The new stack (Cloudreve + fileview) runs as two Docker containers and used ~1.6 GB RAM versus ~4 GB with Nextcloud + OnlyOffice. The author performed reconnaissance to avoid migrating trash and versions, used rsync to a staging directory and rclone via WebDAV to upload ~3,199 files (total rsync 15 min, upload 49 min, zero failures), and verified MD5 checks. Three major issues consumed time: disk IO contention during uploads, a URL-parsing bug in fileview’s frontend that made valid Office files appear “encrypted,” and an unauthenticated SSRF vector in fileview’s /preview/api/netFile endpoint (remediable via fileview whitelist settings).
