Owns end-to-end product surfaces with a significant focus on the new Digital Twins/Simulations Lab, a 0-to-1 product. Answers recurring business questions across GTM, People, Product, and Engineering using SQL and Python, and builds small internal tools like scripts, Slack bots, and dashboards to eliminate manual reports. Requires 3+ years of experience, fluency in SQL/Python, and a builder's instinct for automating processes.

This Research Scientist role designs and runs studies to measure and improve the fidelity of Outset's digital twin AI systems, comparing their responses to real human behavior. The scientist will co-design experiments, develop performance metrics, oversee human rating studies, and apply advanced statistical techniques from survey methodology and computational social science. The role requires a PhD in a related field and involves co-authoring papers and specifying analyses for engineering implementation.
