DeepL Partners with Legal AI Startup Harvey for Document Translation
German AI translation company DeepL has struck a partnership with US legal AI startup Harvey to provide legal document translation services. The deal is part of DeepL's strategy to expand into heavily regulated industries, including legal, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences. DeepL, valued at $2 billion in 2024, will handle over a third of Harvey's total document translation volume. Harvey, valued at $11 billion and reportedly raising at a $15.5 billion valuation, serves more than 2,000 lawyers across over 2,400 organisations. DeepL, which cut 250 employees earlier in 2026, says the accuracy and security of its technology are well suited to complex legal work. Its other clients include Taylor Wessing, SoftBank, and Mazda.
