Banijay Germany integrates All3Media units under new Filmpool United structure
Following the global merger of Banijay Entertainment and All3Media, Banijay Germany, led by Marcus Wolter, is integrating the German All3Media subsidiaries Filmpool Entertainment, Filmpool Fiction, South & Browse, and a 50% stake in Magic Connection. ZDF to Air 'The Assassin' Starring Hawes & Highmore
ZDF will air the thriller series The Assassin in mid-September, broadcasting the first two episodes on linear TV and placing the remaining four episodes exclusively on its streaming portal. The broadcaster partnered with Prime Video—where the series premiered about a year earlier—to bring the show to German audiences. Keeley Hawes stars as a retired hitwoman and Freddie Highmore plays her son. The series was produced by Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media subsidiary) with scripts by Harry and Jack Williams, Krissie Ducker, Hamish Wright and Selina Lim, and direction by Lisa Mulcahy and Daniel Nettheim. ZDF will also add the crime two-parter Inspector Ikmen – Tod in Istanbul, starring Haluk Bilginer, to its September schedule.

Banijay Integrates All3Media Germany; Leadership Reshuffle
Banijay Germany has integrated the remaining All3Media labels in Germany into a new umbrella brand, Filmpool United. Filmpool Entertainment, Filmpool Fiction, South&Browse and the agency Magic Connection will operate under Filmpool United inside Banijay Germany. Vittorio (Vito) Valente, long-time Filmpool chief and most recently CEO of All3Media Germany, will lead Filmpool United. Separately, Arno Schneppenheim is appointed managing director of Endemol Shine Germany (effective September 1) and will join the Banijay board as CCO; Fabian Tobias leaves Endemol Shine Germany to join ITV Studios Germany. Katrin Stefanović will become sole managing director of Banijay Productions. The merged production group says it produces over 4,500 hours of entertainment annually in the German-speaking market.

RTL to End 'Stern TV am Sonntag'
RTL will discontinue the magazine show "Stern TV am Sonntag" after the current season, with the final episode scheduled for 2026-09-06. Launched in 2022, the Sunday edition consistently delivered low ratings—single-digit market shares in the 14–49 target group and reach below one million viewers—prompting RTL to focus on the Wednesday edition and new formats. Recent changes to the programme included a presenter change (Steffen Hallaschka stepped down earlier this year and editorial director Stefan Uhl took over), a shift in recording days, and a production-site move from EMG-Studios in Hürth to the Bavaria-Studios in Cologne.
