Bluesky names Toni Schneider permanent CEO

Toni Schneider, who served as Bluesky's interim CEO for four months after Jay Graber stepped down in March, has dropped the 'interim' title and become Bluesky's permanent chief executive. Schneider — the founding CEO of Automattic and a partner at True Ventures — said an early focus will be building smaller, more private communities to drive growth. Automattic and True Ventures are investors in Bluesky. The social network, originally spun off from Twitter and built on the AT Protocol, grew to about 43 million users under Graber but has recently struggled with retention following a post-election spike.

Nectar Social raises $30M Series A led by Menlo

Nectar Social, an AI-powered marketing operating system, raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Menlo Ventures and its Anthology Fund (created alongside Anthropic). The company, which exited stealth in 2025, uses autonomous AI agents to manage social activity, moderation, creator workflows, competitive intelligence and commerce conversations across platforms. Nectar has data partnerships with Meta and Reddit to aggregate platform data for brands. Founded by sisters Misbah and Farah Uraizee (both ex-Meta), the startup says the funding will be used to expand hiring across applied AI, engineering and go-to-market. Clients cited include Liquid Death, Figma and e.l.f Beauty; other investors in the round include Kinship Ventures, GV and True Ventures.

Digg Relaunches as AI-Focused News Aggregator

Digg has relaunched as an AI-focused news aggregator, pivoting away from a recent Reddit-style relaunch that shut down in March after bot-traffic and differentiation issues. Founder Kevin Rose — a partner at True Ventures — returned to lead the effort and previewed a beta of the redesigned Digg that initially focuses on AI news. The site ingests real-time activity from X to surface and rank stories using engagement signals, sentiment analysis, clustering and signal detection. Digg displays four featured story types, a ranked daily list with engagement metrics pulled from external sources (not native site metrics), and ranks the top 1,000 people, top companies and politicians in AI. The product is currently described as raw and buggy and lacks on-site discussion. TechCrunch notes uncertainty about whether everyday users will adopt Digg over established news apps, X feeds or RSS, but suggests it could become a traffic source for publishers if it gains traction.
