AI Stock Bounce May Be Temporary, Charts Warn

Technical analysis from Fairlead Strategies published on CNBC Pro warns that the AI trade—proxied by the Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF (AIQ)—has weakened and faces additional downside. AIQ has corrected roughly 19% from its recent peak, the weekly MACD has flipped to a sell signal, and weekly stochastics point lower, indicating loss of intermediate-term upside momentum. The ETF's top holdings (including SK Hynix, Micron, AMD, Apple and NVIDIA) give it broad exposure to semiconductors and mega-cap AI infrastructure. Short-term oversold conditions may allow a bounce near daily cloud support, but analysts view any near-term rebound as an interruption rather than a new uptrend and recommend reducing exposure until momentum improves.
